The Week of it Actually Being Christmas

December 29, 2014

SO!

I finally met with the Doctor and got my tonsillectomy scheduled for January 22nd. She said, "Yeah that's disgusting, we need to get that out."

Then we had a FIESTA! All the Spanish speaking members in the area brought their favorite food and we had a lesson on Christmas, danced to great music, and ate empenadas! All the missionaries in our zone were there as well and it was a party if I ever saw one (the Elders might have enjoyed dancing together just a little too much though......) We're gonna have to do it again because it was so much fun.

We went into PacSun and got some SUPER comfy sweatshirts for our Christmas presents to each other and have been very much enjoying those. But the poor kid at the register was so confused as to why girls in skirts were in his store.....it was so funny. "These aren't for you are they?"

We got to bake lots of cookies and treats and bread this week with members and non-members alike. People let you in the door, just because they feel bad. We'll take it!!!

The members spoiled us with gift cards and treats. And we also got stockings dressed like Sister Missionaries with name tags and all! So cute. And stuffed with yummies.

Christmas Eve we went to a members house for dinner and it finally felt like Christmas. We laughed non-stop and stuffed our faces with pie. Then we got to watch 30 minutes of "The Polar Express" with them.

Christmas morning we woke up bright and early as always and took some pictures, opened presents, then went to a members home for breakfast and Christmas fun. BACON! We played games, danced to Christmas music, and ate more candy.

Then we got to go to another home and Skype! All my siblings at once. That was unexpected. I didn't know Skype was that fancy and I was expecting to have to Skype one person at a time. So there were glitches, but we were all there at once and it was perfect.

After, Brother Hatch asked me how we all talk at the same time like that and understand. I explained it would have been like that if we were all in person as well so it's not that big of a deal :)

I love you guys.

It's been a rough week in a "College town" where so many people are out of town, but it was still magical. But I'm glad I only have to do that once :)

Thank you for all the cards and little gifts!

I love you all!

Best:
1. Seeing all the fam at once.
2. My happiness journal. Every night I write the things that made me happy that day.
3. Potato casserole. The person who fed us Christmas dinner called Mom and got the recipe. It was wonderful.
4. Presents! (Especially the tomato soup. Thanks Mom!!!!)
5. At dinner last night the little kid asked what the orange chunks in the chili were. The Father quickly answered, "unicorn meat."

Worst:
1. Cough cough cough. I'm sick again!
2. I got a blessing that said it will get worse before it gets better :( GRRRRR!
