The Week of Hanging On

June 8, 2015

To accurately understand what I've gone through this week you would have had to been with me. I tried writing in my journal every night and I could hardly convey the reality of it. But the sum of it would be in testimony meeting yesterday when a man in the Ward got up and bore his testimony about "the one" that Christ loves and saves. Yes he loves us all, but he also loves just me.

I'm still doing my best to stick to my 1 cup rule........I'm really not doing very well, but I try anyways. I've also stopped looking in the mirror. We really look the same every day. If I could have my way I'd get rid of all of them in the apartment! When it really boils down to it, what we look like isn't what's important (I mean, even Frida Kahlo got a man to think she was beautiful) I just want to feel healthier. So people, stop writing me about how great I look and I shouldn't be worrying about it. It's all good.

Thomas is getting baptized Sunday morning at 9 AM! The Ward is excited for another baptism so soon, but not about the earliness of it :)

Janet was a referral from her neighbor a few weeks back and we were finally able to catch her at home. She let us right in and we started chatting about a lot of different things. Finally she shared an extremely personal experience that ended with an overwhelming feeling of peace from God. She KNOWS it was from him. BINGO! We jumped right in to how she can feel that peace again, and every day. She knows it's important to be baptized, but never has been. I asked her to be baptized June 28th. Without hesitation she said it wouldn't be good because she has to house sit for a friend and blah de blah. So I threw out the next weekend and she thought for a second then said, "Wait a second, I have a calendar!" She pulled it out and started looking at the month of July muttering about why this day would work or this other day. All of a sudden she stopped and I think it finally clicked in her brain what she was actually doing. You could see her face change to, "What on earth am I doing?" She put the calendar down and said, "I'll pick a date before the next time you come over." "Well when can we come back?" "A few weeks?" I started laughing so hard. We got her to let us come back tomorrow and hopefully she'll be home and in good spirits. She loves us, but she's wanting to learn more before making the commitment :)

I've eaten lots of popsicles this week. I feel like I keep getting dehydrated and I'm always so thirsty!

Best:
1. President and Sister Salisbury took us out to dinner.
2. Personal study time. That's what makes the world go round.
3. Packages from Mom, though it's getting much too hot to send chocolate and fresh fruit like that :)

Worst:

1. Friday.
